Resources for Social Success

I've come across some fantastic books, websites and other resources in my own research and in working with clients. Each of these have delivered great value to me in the past and I'm excited about sharing them. I do get a small Amazon Affiliates commission if you choose to buy through this page.
Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy
This book is great introduction to the skills clients acquire through Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I've used this on myself and with my clients to overcome negative moods and setbacks.
Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity
I found GTD in the early 2000s when I worked in corporate America. It seems like a business book but it actually describes a specific mindset of how to work with less stress and more efficiency.
The Charisma Myth: How Anyone Can Master the Art and Science of Personal Magnetism
Spoiler alert: the myth is that charisma is innate. It's not. You can learn it. I've found good inspiration and practical exercises in this book.
The Obstacle Is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Trials into Triumph
Stoicism is an ancient philosophy which describes a mindset resilient to disappointments and setbacks. I found the audio edition especially inspiring and I've listened to it several times.
The Happiness Trap: How to Stop Struggling and Start Living: A Guide to ACT
ACT is a mindfulness-based therapy that's a staple in my office. It helps people look clearly at how their emotions distort perception and a way to work around the distortions. Russ Harris does an outstanding job of explaining this therapy from a clients-eye view.
